Why we start with golf academies
NOVA OS wants to become an applied AI and robotics lab. So why is our first product a management platform for golf academies?
Because labs that start as labs usually die as decks. Research needs money, time, and the credibility to attract both. We chose to earn all three by shipping.
Golf academies are an underserved system we know from the inside. Dozens of coaches, hundreds of students, schedules on WhatsApp, payments in spreadsheets, swing videos scattered across personal phones — and a director flying blind. One platform can run the whole structure. That platform is FairwayPro, and it is live on the App Store.
A sports academy is also a perfect miniature of the systems we want to work on later: many agents, real-time constraints, human-in-the-loop decisions, data that only matters if it changes behavior. Orchestrating an academy today teaches us how to orchestrate larger systems tomorrow.
The sequence is deliberate. Ship products that generate revenue. Reinvest into applied research. Repeat until the lab sustains itself. No external pressure, no pivot anxiety.
We ship first. We announce after.
