Pricing a vertical SaaS in Switzerland

FairwayPro charges CHF 39.99, 59.99, or 199.99 per month depending on the plan. Here is why.

The floor is set by cost. Supabase, Vercel, Apple Developer Program, domain, email — the infrastructure runs about CHF 80/month before a single customer. Below CHF 30/month per user, the math does not work for a bootstrapped company.

The ceiling is set by the market. Golf coaches in Switzerland earn well but they are not enterprise buyers. The tool must feel like a good deal, not a procurement decision. We tested price sensitivity informally: CHF 40 felt right for solo coaches, CHF 200 felt right for a full academy with multiple coaches.

The middle tier exists for coaches who need more than the basics but do not run a multi-coach structure. It is the most common plan in vertical SaaS and it bridges the gap.

We chose monthly billing with no annual commitment. The reasoning: we would rather earn retention through product quality than through contracts. If a coach stops finding value, they should be able to leave. That pressure keeps us honest.

No free tier. A product that does not charge is not a product — it is a demo. We offer trial periods on request, adapted to the situation, but the default is paid from day one.

The Swiss context matters. Payment culture here is different from the US: people expect clear pricing, no hidden fees, and invoices they can file. We publish prices on the website. No “contact sales” for a CHF 40 product.

These prices will evolve as the product grows. We will be transparent about changes.
